Unibet are a medium sized European facing online gaming company that services more than 5.3 million customers in over 150 countries around the World at the time of writing.
Unibet's affiliate program is run by Kindred Affiliates and allows affiliates to tap into the lucrative European betting market, and promote a betting brand that's won a couple of EGR awards.
The Unibet affiliate program is powered by the highly regarded NetRefer software, and gives affiliates access to 10 European online gaming and betting brands, including all of Unibet's.
NetRefer are definitely one of the more visually attractive affiliate platforms out there, and offer a good range of tools and marketing materials to assist in the promotion of the Unibet brand.
Predatory Terms and Conditions!
Despite a reasonably ok reputation within betting circles, the Unibet affiliate program receives mixed reviews amongst affiliates. A few affiliates consider it a highly profitable sports betting affiliation, whereas most struggle to generate commissions and find the T&C's quite predatory.For example, T&C's introduced on March 21st 2018 mean that if you fail to deliver at least 1 new depositing customer over a period of 6 months, Kindred Affiliates will close your account, and from that point onwards, keep all of the future lifetime revenue that your signups could have generated.
That's on top of T&C's that state that they can also reduce your revenue share percentage if you fail to deliver 6 new depositing customers over 3 months, again taking revenue away from affiliate earnings.
It's therefore hard to recommend Kindred Affiliates given that these T&C's essentially allow them to retain affiliates commissions, who have no doubt worked really hard to generate signups for them.
This is especially so for affiliates that could in theory have generated thousands of new customers over the course of a number of years, but then struggle to meet these newly introduced quotas, due to the increased competitiveness of the gambling industry for smaller affiliates.
Another disappointing aspect of Unibet's affiliate program is that they carry negative balances over to the next month, so you'll need to clear these types of deficits before you're able to earn revenue again.
Unibet affiliates do get to promote a betting portal who's website is available in many languages, making it attractive for sports betting affiliates targeting worldwide traffic, but there are a lot of much better run programs, and more succesful sports betting brands that you could be promoting.
Unibet Affiliates
Although mainly specialising in football, Unibet cover a good range of sports betting markets including less popular sports that might suit Unibet affiliates that focus on niche markets.Unibet also handle all their odds in-house making them an attractive option for odds-based acquisitions as they can often be quite competitive compared to rival bookmakers.
Unibet's account managers are also only contactable via email, or a form on the Kindred Affiliates website, which is slightly disappointing when a lot of affiliates like to discuss things over the phone.
As well as Unibets sports betting brand the Kindred Affiliates program also lets affiliates promote alternative bingo, casino and poker brands such as Bingo.com, Otto Kasino and 32Red.
Although not currently as profitable/well known as Unibets sports betting brand, additional revenue opportunities do exist for affiliates wishing to promote Unibet Casino, Unibet Poker or Unibet Bingo.
Unibet affiliates also get access to Maria, Vlad Cazino and Kolikkopelit, online games websites that tend to convert reasonably well for affiliates with traffic from Finland, Norway, Sweden or Denmark.
